RUBENS PAINTING SOLD IN LANDMARK AUCTION
In Palermo, Portrait of a Man, Possibly an Architect or Geographer, thought to be amongst Peter Paul Ruben’s earliest works, has sold for an undisclosed sum at a private auction. The painting has been part of a wider collection since it was painted around 1600, but has now been purchased by prominent Sicilian businessman Girolamo Ludovici.
Signor Ludovici declined to comment when asked about his plans for displaying his newly purchased work.
